Brown & Brown, Inc. Announces the Asset Acquisition of Rogers and Associates Insurance, Inc.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., and TAMPA, Fla., Mar 24, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- C. Roy Bridges, Regional Executive Vice President of Brown & Brown, Inc. (NYSE: BRO), and Howard M. Rogers, President of Rogers and Associates Insurance, Inc., of Palm Harbor, Florida, today announced the asset acquisition of Rogers and Associates Insurance, Inc. by Brown & Brown, Inc. The transaction is effective April 1, 2003.

Rogers and Associates Insurance, with annualized revenues of approximately $1.1 million, is a commercial property and casualty insurance agency located in Palm Harbor, Florida. The agency serves the insurance needs of businesses and homeowners primarily in Florida's Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough Counties. Howard and Suzanne Rogers, Linda Baker and their staff will be combining operations with Brown & Brown's existing Clearwater, Florida office.

Mr. Bridges, who is responsible for Brown & Brown's West Florida operations, noted, "We are quite pleased to have Howard and this quality staff of insurance professionals join us. Their operation further strengthens our Tampa Bay area presence and enhances our goal to better serve the insurance needs of residents and businesses throughout the Tampa Bay region."
